PhotoVoice Gallery and Online
Marc Schlossman, former chair of PhotoVoice’s Board, has spent the past ten years documenting specimens of extinct and threatened species held by the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. Recently published by Ammonite Press, Marc’s book [https://www.extinction.photo/] displays 82 of these species. The photographs are published alongside detailed information about each of the species depicted.
Join us to hear Marc talk about the inspiration for the project, what he has learnt, and what he hopes it will achieve. Tickets are free with a recommended donation to PhotoVoice and can be booked either for either online or in-person attendance. Discounted copies of the book will be available to purchase (card payments only).
We’re delighted to announce that Marc will be joined by Max Barclay from the Natural History Museum in London, who will be discussing the Museum’s approach to endangered specimens and extinction.
Max Barclay is a British entomologist, and a Senior Curator in Charge in the Department of Life Sciences at the Natural History Museum in London. He is a Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society, a lifelong supporter of Museums and a member of the editorial board of The Coleopterist journal. He has been described as ‘one of Britain’s leading entomologists’.
