PhotoVoice Supporter Scheme

The PhotoVoice Supporter Scheme is a way for people to support our work and help sustain our participatory photography programmes and activities, and plays a vital role in engaging underrepresented communities around the world through photography. As a non-profit organisation, we rely on the support from individuals to help us:

• Develop new methodological approaches
• Develop new resources
• Offer reduced prices on training courses
• Deliver our essential day to day activities

PhotoVoice is a small non-profit organisation with a worldwide reach, which has promoted, developed, and championed the use of participatory photography for over a quarter of a century. We don’t have a team of fundraisers, and all of our income is spent on supporting activities which directly contribute to our work.

We are committed to a strong set of ethical principles, pride ourselves on our transparency, and do our best to give back to the communities we work with. This includes things such as:

• Offering free resources under Creative Commons Licensing, such as our Statement of Ethical Practice
• Offering free training places to eligible individuals who might otherwise not be able to attend our courses
• Donating a percentage of our training income to efforts to fight climate change
• Sharing stories, projects, and insights from practitioners and photographers worldwide through our Guest Blogs, promoting their work to global audiences

PhotoVoice Supporters also receive a range of benefits. These include:

Access to resources and methodology papers for as long as they remain a supporter. 
There are a whole range of methodology papers which are exclusively available to PhotoVoice Supporters, with more produced each year. These cover topics such as how to use prompts in participatory photography activities, the impact of AI on community engagement and communications, and how to decide which cameras to use.

More are developed each year, and this important work is helped by the Supporter Scheme. Active Supporters can access these documents at any time.

Discounts on printed publications
PhotoVoice tries to take a digital first approach to publications, but when they are available for sale, Supporters receive discounted prices.

Supporting our work
For a modest amount, Supporters truly help make our work happen.

There are different Supporter Scheme tiers available:

• Student – £38 per year – just over £3 a month
• Standard – £76 per year – just over £6 a month

All Supporter Scheme fees support our activities. Around 85% of our income we receive goes towards our projects and awareness raising activities. Becoming a PhotoVoice Supporter is easy; simply select the appropriate level below and pay through Stripe.
